Punctuality, and the lack thereof, is the source of irritation this afternoon in Dannhauser where a community meeting scheduled for 1pm failed to start on time.
The meeting was called by Cllr Kunene of Ward 2 which includes the Dannhauser town area and surrounds. It was said that the Councillor and officials had first attended a meeting at Skoperane.
An irritated community member made a call to the municipal delegation, saying a crowd had been waiting at the new hall in Dannhauser since before 1pm, only to be told the ensemble would be having lunch before coming down for the meeting.
This further raised temperatures and a local businessman had posters printed out, registering their anger with the Councillor and officials’ tardiness.
A delegation arrived at the hall shortly after 2pm (an hour late) and brought with them a peace offering of lunch which many greeted with great enthusiasm.
However, many are continuing to register their irritation and believe that the Council is belittling residents by not respecting their time.
The Council’s reaction will be provided once (and if) it is received.
