Crash knocks out power

Electricians were this morning working to carry out repairs to a substation that was wiped out when a bakkie crashed into it on Thursday evening.
The driver of the bakkie, believed to be from Mpumalanga, appeared to veer off Karel Landman Street, opposite Norths Motor Spares, and hit the substation.
Power was knocked out in the area. Witnesses said the driver may have blacked out but it is not clear if he was tested for drunken driving.
