Playing a round robin format, they finished at the top of group D with two wins and a draw. Thereafter, they won one game and drew two more which offered them a position in the final. After dominating Jim Fouche, but being unable to convert their opportunities, they lost 1 – 0 in the final which placed them second out of the 16 teams that attended this highly rated tournament.
