Dannhauser residents tired of ‘poor service delivery’

Years of lack of service delivery, false promises and the poor state of the town have finally gotten too much for residents of Dannhauser, who are saying enough is enough.
Residents recently gathered at the South Park Grounds to protest and form a committee that will tackle the many grievances they have.
Among the complaints were the state of the potholed roads, the lack of working streetlights, blocked drains and water issues and the general cleanliness of the town.
The potholed roads were a huge talking point as residents shared their stories of how numerous times their vehicles suffered damage due to the many badly rutted roads.
Residents also said that their complaints fell on deaf ears at the municipality and that none of the queries is ever answered.
“There is no feedback from the municipality and no accountability,” they said. Residents are hoping that by forming a committee, they will be able to fight for their rights and bring an end to the false promises at the municipality. However, despite the decent turnout, residents asked that the meeting to elect a committee be reconvened to another day when members of Durnacol and Mafusini were also present.
The Courier has contacted the Dannhauser Municipality for a comment on service delivery issues affecting the community but, up to date, there has been no response.
