Cash, valued at over R50 000, 69 mandrax tablets and two unlicensed firearms were seized when police swooped on two homes in Sibongile last week, arresting two men.
Captain V Mbense, Dundee SAPS spokesman, said the Dundee Detectives, Glencoe Dog Unit, the Task Team and Prevention of Crime Unit combined to make two arrests – one at Madonsela Street and the other at Xaba Street.
Both were found in possession of firearms. Ammunition was also confiscated.
The serial number of at least one of the firearms had been filed off. It was discovered that one of the firearms had been stolen in Pomeroy. Mandrax tablets were also found. The firearms have been sent for ballistic tests to ascertain if these have been used to commit other crimes.
Sifiso Mlambo (36) and Sifiso Mbatha (36) have appeared in Court and the case is ongoing.
