Another weekend, another mess in Coronation Park

It is a weekly and in some cases a daily occurrence.  And residents in the vicinity of Coronation Park on McKenzie Street, adjacent to the hospital, say enough is enough.

“Wild parties move in every weekend with loud music.  On Sunday, the first party with music moved in before 6am in the rain… it is ridiculous,” said one resident.

The mess left behind by party-goers is an eye sore, said another resident, adding that soaring rates and social problems in the area – related to the park – had forced him to close down his B and B.

“The municipality should rather not clean up the mess.  Lets see if the parties will just continue on top of the previous mess.”

Residents said they have officially written to the municipality to complain and to call on the authorities to fence off the park as is the case with parks in Forestdale, Peacevale and in Sibongile.
