Dundee without water after contractors take out mainline

Dundee is again without water.  Umzinyathi District Municipality has confirmed that the main 450mm line from the reservoir on Mpati, feeding Dundee town,  has again been damaged by a contractor.

“The same thing happened some weeks ago when the contractors damaged the line while carrying out road repairs and maintenance,” said Umzinyathi’s Nomonde Nzimakwe.

The damage has left most of the town without water, save for the lower part of town that may still receive water via gravity feed.

She said workmen are working feverishly to restore the supply.
