R70 000 dagga bust, four suspects arrested

Nhlanhleni police in Pomeroy arrested four suspects – and five bags of dagga worth R70 000 – this week.
Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane said the bust was made on Monday.
“The suspects, aged between 30 and 54, will appear in the Tugela Magistrate’s Court today facing possession of dagga charges.”
He said police had been patrolling the Ilenge area when they saw a “suspicious-looking” red Toyota Tazz with four occupants along the gravel road.
“The vehicle was stopped and searched by the members.
Five bags full of dagga were found in the vehicle
All four suspects were arrested and charged accordingly.”
Acting KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner Major General Bheki Langa commended the team for their outstanding work.
He said the area was known for the cultivation and availability of dagga.
“Police officers will put more efforts (to prevent drugs) from reaching the youth and those involved will be prosecuted.”
