Sarel Lions triumph over Pionier

Sarel Cilliers took on the mighty Pionier High School from Vryheid on a miserably cold and wet day and, in a strong display of force and discipline, managed to comprehensively outplay their opponents.
The build-up to this week was intense and tough for boys and coaches involved.
Everyone knew that they were going to face formidable opponents and that they could not rest on their laurels.
Sarel Cilliers het 6 spanne opgekommandeer en ‘n fantastiese 5 uit die 6 wydstryde gewen.

By the time the first team entered the battlefield, the weather was even more miserable and soft rain drizzled down on the young Lions of Glencoe.
Pionier had a good start and during the first half of the game the scoreboard see-sawed between the two teams.
The second half was a completely different story – Sarel’s boys exponentially increased in courage and determination. Step-by-step they gained control of the battle and turned the score in their favour.
Their incredible effort paid off and they emerged victors with a final score of 22-6.
An elated first team left the field to cheers from the supporters. Nobody cared anymore that it was wet and cold. Sarel had won!
Congratulations to all the boys for this sterling performance and the school wish you all of the best for your matches next week against Ferrum High School.
