A mixed bag of sporting success for DHS

Op Woensdag, 10 Mei, het die netbal meisies Vryheid Landbou met trots aangedurf en goeie resultate gehad met die volgende tellings:
O/14A: DHS 18-2 Landbou, O/15A: DHS 18-6 Landbou, O/16A: DHS 16-20 Landbou, 2de Span: 14-6 Landbou, 1ste Span: 71-6 Landbou.
Saterdag, 13 Mei, het ons teen Hoërskool Ferrum gespeel en die volgende tellings gehad: O/14A: DHS 4-22 Ferrum, O/14B: DHS 4-16 Ferrum, O/15A: DHS 6-11 Ferrum O/15B: DHS 10-8 Ferrum, O/16A: DHS 4-28 Ferrum, O/16B: DHS 7-7 Ferrum, 2de Span: DHS 4-7 Ferrum, 1ste Span: DHS 27-13 Ferrum.
During this weekend one of the u/15 girls went for final selection on KZN Team. DHS congratulates the following girls for representing Umzinyathi in the Provincial Teams: Thandolwethu Biyela u/15 (WA/C) and Simangaye Nkwanyana u/18 (GD/GK).
Girls Hockey: This past week was a mixed bag of results. Against Vryheid Landbou the u/14s won 8-0 and the 1sts 4-0. Unfortunately, all the teams lost against Ferrum.

Congratulations to Gabby Carter, Abigail Box, Nontu Khuzwayo, Cheryl Ngobese and Tamarah Grierson who will be taking part in the u/16 Country District trials on May 20.
Seuns Hokkie: Op ‘n ysige dag het die seuns die veld warm gespeel! Die 2de span het 3-0 gewen en die 1ste span het 2-2 gespeel teen die magtige Ferrum. Ons is baie trots op die seuns, hulle het hard gewerk die afgelope week en Saterdag prag hokkie gespeel. Weereens het hulle ‘n baie goeie gesindheid gehad en hokkie het die dag gewen.
Rugby: On Wednesday, DHS took on Vryheid Landbou with huge success. The scores were as follows: u/14: DHS 14-12 Landbou, u/16: DHS 19-14 Landbou, 1st Team: DHS 31-5 Landbou.
This past Saturday all rugby teams played at home against Ferrum. After a freezing day, the scores were as follows: u/14: DHS 0-42 Ferrum, u/15: DHS 7-19 Ferrum, u/16: DHS 14-12 Ferrum and 2nd Team: DHS 5-5 Ferrum, 1st Team: DHS 10-21 Ferrum. DHS is looking forward to hosting Vryheid High School next week.
