Dannhauser family held up by armed robbers

One of the family members told police that she was woken by the screams of her son at 4am.

When she went to see what had happened, she found five armed men in the house.

The men are believed to have gained entry through a window.

They then threatened the family with firearms, demanding cash and jewellery.

The escaped with cash, jewellery, cellphones and laptops.

Dannhauser Police Communications Officer, Sergeant Nyembe, urged the community to assist them in apprehending the perpetrators.

He appealed to residents to report any suspicious vehicles or activities in the town.

He also appealed for calm, reassuring residents that the police were working hard to put an end to crime in Dannhauser.
